Breakdown Support

When you’re running a business that operates 24 hours a day, 7 days a week such as a factory or manufacturing facility (or a dairy farm, where cows produce milk all day long), an engineering breakdown can have serious consequences.  Chances are that you have little time for preventative maintenance activities when your factory is in full production, so equipment may fail from time to time.

When you do break down, call John Brooks Ltd. We aim to keep popular products readily available in stock so that we can provide a timely response service to both automation and mechanical failures.  We can provide support over the telephone or via our distributors. In some cases we (or a partner) can come on-site to your facility to help accurately diagnose and coordinate the repair of faults. We’ll work pragmatically to get you the best outcome as quickly as possible.

With necessary access granted, it may be possible for us to use remote site network servicing motion controls and HMI screens to remotely diagnose and fix issues.  With full wireless or network connectivity to your remote customer system, we’ll save you time and costs.  We were recently able to commission a plant that had broken down at an Invercargill milk canning plant remotely, as an example of this.

John Brooks Ltd can also support you outside of breakdowns.  We can help to simplify currently complex engineering installations, and / or help you to upgrade plant or component products. An upgrade to a plant offering new features and facilities may save you the cost of buying new and more expensive machines. Upgrades can be scheduled over a business lifecycle, as required.  Often investment in plant will pay for itself over a short time period. We recently upgraded a metal press in Wellington.

We have specialist skills available to support Variable Speed controls. We can commission variable speed controls from 90 watts up to 800Kw, in both AC and DC controls.  Variable speed drives themselves are not complex, but there can be considerable complexity in their connections, and in the interfacing of the variable speed drives with existing controls.  John Brooks Ltd are experts with Variable Speed Drives and can sort most problems.
