John Brooks Ltd are the designers and manufacturers of the mobile Brooks Fluid-Flo Pump, a trolley mounted controlled pump that can be easily wheeled to any location within a vineyard’s processing plant. Fine wine must be handled with care, and the BFP ensures that wine can be easily transported from location to location without damage for blending, bottling, and transferring between wine vats. Quality, reliability and the ability to easily adapt are core BFP features.

Various BFP sizes and pump technologies are available to meet the needs of small boutique wineries and large multinational brewing companies. Flow rates range from 500 litres per hour for the small 1.5” flexible impellor pump up to 90000 litres per hour for the 3” centrifugal pump. A variety of pipe fittings are available to suit connections to popular brewing systems including Tri Clover and RJT.
The Brooks Fluid Pump was first designed in 2001, at wine maker request. The product itself (which has been refined since 2001) is a unique package of motor, pump and controls. It makes use of a flexible neoprene impeller combined with a food grade stainless steel pump head from Bodin, which was designed over 50 years ago for use in the wine industry. The Brooks Wine Pump is used by wineries in New Zealand, Australia and the USA. More than 50% of wineries in New Zealand have one or more BFP systems.
The BFP is portable, and lightweight. Hose connections have been designed especially to avoid joint stress. Attachments allow for the introduction of wine making additives when necessary. A unique variable speed float allows the pump to respond automatically to fluctuating juice levels as the grapes are pressed. Furthermore a pluggable wired pendant lets the winemaker control the pump remotely. Dual control stations via the pendant or on the control cabinet itself, allow winery positioning flexibility.
We have distributors for the product in Blenheim, New Zealand and Melbourne, Australia. These distributors offer direct support for the Brooks Fluid Pump. We also have a wider full support network that covers the whole of New Zealand, when required. Repairs and spare parts are carried at John Brooks Ltd office, and in the distributor support network – so any down time is minimised for our customers.
