Timing Belts are specific to each machine that they are on. There are three different measurements that are necessary for you to get the right belt that you need. This first measurement that is needed is pitch. Pitch is the centre to centre measurement of two teeth that are next to each other. The other two measurements are length and the number of teeth over the whole belt. With these three measurements we can get you the proper belt at John Brooks Ltd.
Here are some of the benefits of using industrial timing belts over V belt drives or steel chain drives:
1. High mechanical efficiency, as much as 98% when properly maintained. By contrast, chain drives are in the 91-98% efficiency range, while V-Belts average in the 93-98% range.
2. Power transmission efficiency is not lost by use of timing belts
3. Clean operation, no need for lubrication
4. Reduced noise
5. No Rust Corrosion in damp environments.
6. John Brooks can design the perfect match for speed reduction or speed step up drives as well as precision positioning for automation applications. Complete range of tooth geometry’s are available such as HTD, HPPD, Trapezoidal with steel and Kevlar cords.
